photoblog image STOP
Brief interlude from Barbados shots..took this last Thursday - Moscow traffic sign.  I was in a car (obviously!) and took a couple..tried cropping just to have signs..but thought it looked better anchored by the building..what say you?  PLEASE don't talk about cloning out the wires..as I think it would then look too unreal.

i think that you are right....the building definately anchors the signs. i really like the way the blue sign brings out the blue in the sky.
Barbara: Thanks Nicole

Nice shot, the sign in russian means STOP ! The wires look like cob webs around the sign.
Barbara: "yearno" (Ala Little Britain)..hence the title..was actually going to call it "STOP...and go to Heaven"

Works for me, I would have added a tad bit of shadow and possibly played around with the levels and curve of this image, just a little.

Barbara: If it works for the Subster..it's a start... innit? Any joy processing yesterdays?

And if you cloned the wires what anchor the sign to the buildings. Floating signs? Next thing you know you'll shooting melting clocks and flaming giraffes. A little more contrast might have made this a little better.
Barbara: Hah...some Daliesque shots..now that's an idea..

Clearly not taken with an Olympus as the "colors" don't rock!

I think the composition's interesting but a bit of cropping (not taking out the building entirely) might have given the shot more impact.
Barbara: hmmm...since you're bringing me a new lens..I'm going to take this on the chin. So are you going to swap your new Canon for an Olympus? wink
Hopefully see you this weekend?

Like the sign but I have to say I was upset that they attached it to my holiday home though.
Barbara: You are a scream KK

Er, that would be tantamount to admitting I'm a poor workman (blaming my tools etc). So far I'm yet to print one of the zillions of pictures I've taken and I was sorely tempted by a fully manual Nikon FG20 film camera at the weekend.

It was perhaps fifteen years old with a 50mm lens and the minimum aperture was 1.8! Absolutely awesome and when you looked through the viewfinder, true WYSIWYG.

Looks a bit like ACTON without the wires, more real shots like this of moscow helps me visualize moscow without the iron curtain image. more pls.
